Clarence Simpson Exhibition

The Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Brian X. Foley has again invited the Brookhaven Arts & Humanities Council members to exhibit their works for two months in Town Hall starting Wednesday, January 16, 2008 through March 19, 2008.

 

I will have 5 photo/art images exhibited there. I hope that you will get a chance to see the BAHC exhibit which includes fine multi-media art pieces.

GRANT CALENDAR

February 4, 2008: Inquiry Form available onlineMarch 4, 2008: Deadline for completed Inquiry Forms

Early June 2008: Notification of advance to Application stage

Early July 2008: Deadline for completed Applications

Mid-September 2008: Notification of advance to panel review

Mid-January 2009: Announcement of awards ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible to apply, an artist must be:• A U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident

• At least 25 years old• A working artist with at least five years of professional experience

Eligible for 2008-09 Grants:

Emerging Fields may include digital arts, gaming, sound art, architecture, design, interdisciplinary projects, and new genres. 

Innovative Literature may include poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and genre-defying literary work.

Performing Arts may include dance, music theater, experimental music performance, nontraditional opera, spoken word, theater/performance art, puppetry, and interdisciplinary projects.  Under Emerging Fields, how does Creative Capital define digital arts, new genres, andinterdisciplinary projects?

Digital arts may include electronic art, net art, open source technology, locational technology, connectedness, wireless technology, gaming, networked art, experimental programming and software, hacking, robotics, blogs, VJs, etc. 

New genres and interdisciplinary projects may include work that is a hybrid form (art & community, tactical interventions, etc.) or at the intersections of disciplines—both within the arts (art & architecture, art & design, etc.) and outside the field (art & social justice, art & biotechnology, art & ecology, art & genetics, etc.) as well as immersive and interactive art, installation, and networked projects.

2008 JP Morgan Chase Regrants Awards

The Huntington Arts council Announces the 2008 JP Morgan Chase Regrants Awards.

 

Organizational Stabilization Grant: provides funding opportunities for Nassau & Suffolk County Not-For-Profit Organizations with an operating budget of $3000,000 or less. The grants are between $200 and $3000.

 

Artist Reach Out: individual artists of all disciplines may apply for funding to support artists’ projects which directly involve the community as part of the creative process. Five grants of $2500 will be available.

Projects must take place in Nassau or

Suffolk County between April  1, 2008 and March 1, 2009.

Deadline for applications: March 10, 2008
