The SoHo Photo Gallery
“The Walking Dunes: East Hampton’s Hidden Treasure”
Reception: Tues., Dec. 4, 6-8 PM

The exhibit includes a series of prints from a book of that title, with text by East Hampton naturalist Mike Bottini (to be published in spring of 2008). All prints are digital, in color, on archival paper, framed “16×20.”

Since 1980 Formanek has photographed in this nature preserve and has captured its beauty–the picturesque dunes which ‘walked’ over trees and bushes, the rare wild orchids and insectivorous plants, poison ivy, beach grass and beach heather in bloom, caterpillars crawling out of their tents, toads, fiddler crabs, turtles, and much, much more.

The SoHo Photo Gallery is open Thursdays from 6-8, Fridays, Sat. and Sun. from 1-6 PM.
The show runs from Dec. 4-28, 2007.
